	Low-order Waveplate & Multi-order Waveplate

A low-order waveplate is multi-order waveplate with reduced thickness.
This type of waveplate is not as thin as a true zero-order waveplate,
making it easier to handle, yet it is not as thick as typical multi-order.
Use quartz as birefringent material, its thickness is typically designed
within the range of 0.1 to 0.3mm. The low-order waveplate exhibits lower
temperature sensitivity, a broader bandwidth, and a larger field angle
	compared to other multi-order waveplates.

The classical multi-order waveplates available in the market generally have a
thickness of approximately 0.5 to 1 mm. These waveplates possess relatively low
angle acceptance and wavelength bandwidth, and exhibit high temperature sensitivity.
Optocity produces lower-order waveplates to decrease temperature sensitivity and
increase angle acceptance and wavelength bandwidth at the designated wavelength.
The performance of these low-order waveplates is comparable to that of true
zero-order waveplates, while being more cost-effective.

Low-order waveplates are increasingly being utilized for both high-power and
low-power laser applications. Half waveplates rotate the direction of polarization
and quarter waveplates convert linear polarization into circular polarization or vice versa.
